"Draw near to Me, and I will draw near to you".
"Draw nigh to God, and He will draw nigh to you". (James 4:8)
The Lord invites me to draw near to Him, and He promises me that if I will do this, He will draw near to me. First, however, I must remember to do the following: "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you". Therefore, throughout this day I will submit my entire life to my Father God. I will resist the devil every time he tries to throw me off-track, and I will be sure to draw near to God each step of the way.
Heavenly Father, thank you for all the promises of your Word, and for the invitations you extend to me so graciously. Thank you for inviting me to draw near to you, and for your promise that you will respond by drawing near to me. I will draw near to you, Father, and I will walk in your presence throughout this day.
"Live in me, and I will live in you. A branch cannot produce any fruit by itself. It has to stay attached to the vine. In the same way, you cannot produce fruit unless you live in me". (John 15:4 GW) "If you obey my commandments, you will live in my love". (John 15:10 GW) "So place yourselves under God's authority. Resist the devil, and he will run away from you". (James 4:7 GW)
The Lord Jesus did not die on Calvary just to enable you to get out of hell; He died to enable the Holy Spirit to get out of heaven into you. (Major W Thomas)
On 10th March 1898, George Muller died in Bristol, England aged 92 years. A great man of prayer, he believed in a Father God who would meet all his needs in Christ - and had proved it to be so. In his time he had cared for ten thousand children in his homes, and without ever appealing for funds - other than from God.
