Today God says:
"You are the light of the world".

He promises me:
"You are the light of the world … Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven". (Matt. 5:14-16)

My response to the word:
I am the light of the world, illuminating by the abiding Light of Jesus Christ who lives within me. Throughout this day I will let His light shine through me. Wherever I go, I will dispel the darkness of this world. I will do good works at every opportunity that is presented to me. In this way, I know that others will glorify my Father in heaven.

My prayer:
Father, thank you for Jesus Christ who is the Light of the world. Help me to be like Him, allowing my light to shine wherever I go. I want others to see you in my life today.

Today's scriptures:
"While you have the light, believe in the light so that you will become people whose lives show the light". (John 12:36 GW) "Once you lived in the dark, but now the Lord has filled you with the light. Live as children who have light". (Eph. 5:8 GW) "You belong to the day and the light not to the night and the dark". (1 Thess. 5:5 GW)

Quote for today:
Evangelism is just one beggar telling another beggar where to find bread. (D T Niles)
