Today God says:
  "I will be your confidence"

He promises me:
"Do not be afraid of sudden fear; neither of the desolation of the wicked when it comes. For the Lord shall be your confidence and shall keep your foot from being taken". (Prov. 3:25-26)

My response to the word:
I've placed my life in the Lord's hands. Therefore, I have no reason to fear anyone or anything. The Lord is my confidence, and I know He will protect me at all times. Today I will walk in the confidence of the Lord. I have complete confidence in the Lord, and I know that no weapon that is formed against me will prosper.

My prayer:
Lord, thank you for being my confidence and my strength. Throughout this day I will walk in complete confidence because of you.

Today's scriptures:
"No weapon that has been made to be used against you will succeed. You will have an answer for anyone who accuses you. This is the inheritance of the Lord's servants. Their victory comes from me, declares the Lord". (Isa. 54:17 GW) "We can go to God with bold confidence through faith in Christ". (Eph. 3:12 GW) "We are His household if we continue to have courage and to be proud of the confidence we have". (Hebr. 3:6 GW) "We are confident that God listens to us if we ask anything that has His approval". (1 John 5:14 GW)

Quote for today:
It's not the years we put in - it's what we put into the years. (Selwyn Hughes)

On this day:
On 29th July 1833, William Wilberforce died, three days after the Bill for the Abolition of Slavery has been passed in the House of Commons. As an MP he had worked tirelessly in this cause and lived to see his life's work completed.
